We are half-way through #MMMay16 and this post comes with a bonus: 2 FREE patterns that can be made into this wonderful ensemble! Top pattern is breezy kimono blouse and bottom is a classic pencil skirt, with a slit in the middle. Read one for pattern links and all details about Day 15 of Me Made May!
Pattern: for the top I used Kirsten Kimono top pattern, perfect for flowy fabrics and summer days. Get your pattern HERE as you sign up for her newsletters. For skirt pattern I used classic pencil skirt pattern that you can get HERE, as you download Burda Style look book. It comes with 2 free patterns and one of them is this pencil skirt.
Skills: Novice. Not difficult at all, apart from invisible zipper for the pencil skirt. Everything else is a very easy make, 1 day project and wear it the next day!
Fabric: for the top I used butterfly rayon from Jo-Ann’s and for the skirt I used a remnant piece of white/cream cotton of Jo -Ann’s as well, it has a very vague rose pattern.
This outfit has a certain ease about it, can definitely be dressed up with a simple blazer and high heels, and can be dressed down maybe with a kimono cardigan and trendy flats.
Again, lovely style!!
