Once in a while I need a bright pop of color in my life. Day 20 of #MMMay16 is ORANGE . It is positive, cheerful, high energy and a bright color that instantly lifts up your mood! I found this fabric some time ago at Jo-Ann’s and made this simple long sleeve shirt/top. I think that it would also fit well to make a positive summer dress, maybe a pair of palazzo pairs. I guess I should tell here that I have extra 2 yds of it 🙂 When I am in love with the fabric is hard for me to walk away buying just 1 yd… 🙂 those who sew will understand 🙂
Pattern: this is a simple long sleeve shirt pattern from Burda Style, 02/2011. Although the pattern is for stretch fabrics, I made it a little wider, so that the pattern would work for non-stretch fabrics. I also made the neckline wider and shortened sleeve length to 7/8.
Fabric: lightweight cotton fabric with orange thread-embroidered pattern
Skills: novice/intermediate. It is a fairly easy make, just takes a little practice to adjust the pattern!
Accessories: I have also made this tote and I have it with me almost every day, especially when I go to work. It is so wide and big that it fits all my work folders and papers! Sweet!
