Jumping from constructive sewing back into the colorful world of art and paint! I was working on this one all night yesterday and added finishing touches this morning. Flirtatious, yet thoughtful and quite simple poster-style canvas “Home, sweet home”. I don’t know what it is about me, but I found myself to … Continue reading The city I live in: Welcome to fabulous Las Vegas. Late night art.
Tomorrow, at 10.40 am I am finally getting on the plane to go back home. For good this time. Not that I am never going to visit England, or Latvia or Russia ever again, but I truly hope I won’t be needing to cross the Atlantic Ocean anytime soon. I do and I will … Continue reading Bye, bye England!
“No matter where I might be I am thinking of you, therefore I am sending you this postcard” – that’s what the postcard is for me. And I believe for my 22 years long life I have sent over 200 postcards from around the world to dozens of people. How cool is that to be in Europe and receive a postcard from Virgin Islands or Costa Rica?
Two days ago I received a Christmas postcard from my high school fellow and it indeed brought back all the wonderful memories of my gap year journey. It is not only about where do you travel, but mostly how you remember that place. World is a magical place with so many secrets to explore, so keep on going and never stop!
Right now I am stretched between UK and USA, and will remain being in-between for couple of months more. If you would like to receive a postcard from me – with the biggest pleasure I will send a reason to smile to you! Let me know, facebook me (Alisa Sibrova) or let me know by dropping an email at email@example.com
Below you will find showcase consisting of postcards from my own collection from the places that I have been to. Enjoy!
As I am treating myself with another spoon full of vanilla-pecan-chocolate chip ice-cream, home made by the way, I realized that having no plan can be a pretty good plan on its own. Not to mention how bizarre and bonkers it can get! Well, I might be slightly exaggerating. With one of the … Continue reading Twisted 2014 or Happy New Year!
2013 was unexpected and fickle. Very. As there is only one day left before we wave goodbye to this year – I still don’t know what kind of twists and turns to expect. For me, this year brought a lot: new beginnings, awaited endings, amazing discoveries, painful memories and better hopes. It brought … Continue reading Retrospective of 2013. Unexpected and fickle.
For days it is the first time ever that I have seen it rain in Nevada. No doubt, after spending almost a year in rainy England it reminds me of the city of my heart – Manchester. All the good times that I had, all the friends that I’ve made, all the life lessons … Continue reading The city of my heart
On this gorgeous Sunday morning I took a stroll down Las Vegas boulevard to capture the beauty of the city I live in. Continue reading The city I live in
I must admit: nostalgia is not my element. But, surprisingly for myself, today I was all about it. I was going through old journals and diaries (who does not have them?!), postcards and what not. Finally I found a box with fridge magnets, carefully collected from all over the world. I swear, I … Continue reading I was here: everywhere
Halloween has passed, light sugar candy hangover slept away and now is the time to review yesterday’s night. We went to see and partly participate at the Las Vegas Halloween Parade, it wasn’t as s[spectacular as I would expect it to be, not as energizing, but it was still fun and creative enough to … Continue reading Yesterday was The Day: Sinister Halloween at the Sin City
Believe it or not, but I could never imagine Las Vegas being the city of where to live, form a family, work and enjoy any other aspect of a normal life. It was then; now, when we have actually decided to live there, everything is different. You see, I would never think of Paris … Continue reading I was here: Fabulous Las Vegas, but not as you know it
